I found him at last!

After a couple of weeks of keeping my eyes keenly peeled I finally ran into Boulder's local pirate chap where else but in a bad Irish pub of course! Clearly the grog had been flowing, for Simon (not an especially menacing name I thought?) was in high spirits. He clearly loves Halloween because he never needs to spend money on a costume. He was wearing his trademark coat and tricorne with visible pride and I think he was enjoying blending into the crowd for a change.

I suggested my idea to make a documentary of his life but sadly he declined. What really made me laugh was when Simon good naturedly informed me that he gets asked to be the subject of people's personal documentary projects at least once a month on average!

Anyway I did my best to join him in a sea shanty (I forget how the lyrics went exactly but there was generous mention of
"gutting the filthy Spaniard"). One of the good things about pirate banter is that whenever you don't quite hear someone or you're not entirely sure of the words, letting rip with a hearty "aaarggh" usually gets you by.
